 RENTERS:

1. OUR FLORIDA began processing applications this past Monday, May 17, 2021. OUR FLORIDA provides renters who qualify with relief on unpaid rent and utility bills, and supports landlords and utilities with relief on lost revenue to support their continued recovery. They are currently accepting applications for rental assistance.  Visit their website for more information and an application at https://www.ourflorida.com/

HOMEOWNERS:

2.  CITY OF MIAMI residents can get up to $70,000 for repair of the exterior of their home!  Application deadline: Tuesday, June 1.  The City of Miami Homeownership Preservation Program is now accepting applications for assistance of up to $70,000 to income-eligible homeowners seeking repair to the exterior of their homestead property to better withstand storms while maximizing energy efficiency.  Application deadline is Tuesday, June 1.

3. If you have a mortgage that is insured by FHA and you are unable to make your mortgage payment because of COVID-19, you’re eligible for FHA’s COVID-19 Forbearance.  Application deadline is Wednesday, June 30, 2021.  Visit thewebsite for more information at https://www.hud.gov/coronavirus/homeowners.

You can request up to 6 months of forbearance initially, and an additional 6 months if you need it. You must request this assistance from your mortgage servicer by Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

4. If your mortgage is not FHA-insured, mortgage relief is also available for other government-backed mortgages.  Visit the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Coronavirus Resources webpage.at https://www.consumerfinance.gov/coronavirus/

— Homeownership – Purchase Assistance-with Rehab

— Rentals – Rapid Re-Housing-Rent
