ACT-SO is a year-long enrichment program designed to recruit, stimulate, improve and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. ACT-SO is an acronym for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics. Our ACT-SO Committee Chair is Dr. Keitha Burnett.

If you’re a high school student who excels academically in science, math, or engineering (STEM), the humanities, in the performing arts, the culinary arts, or in business — or if you’re the mentor to such a student — WE WANT TO MEET WITH YOU.

The application deadline for the South Dade 2019-2020 NAACP-ACT-SO COMPETITION is March 16, 2020.

Selected students will be invited to travel with us to Boston to the NAACP National Convention in July 2020 to compete against their peers, nationally!  We will fundraise, along with the student and their parents/guardians, to make this highly educational trip and opportunity possible.
